What attracted you to hotels/spas?
I have always loved sport and fitness and, following my work on the 2012 Olympics, Lime Wood seemed the perfect transition into wellbeing.
What do you enjoy most about your industry?
I really enjoy supporting our members and guests to achieve their personal wellbeing goals in Herb House.
Biggest achievement to date?
For the spa and hotel it was definitely achieving the number one spot in the Top 50 Boutique Hotels and also winning the AA Spa Awards. On a personal level, in December 2018, I did a 45K trail run across the Purbecks as a personal challenge with a running buddy. The trail was over a 4,500 foot climb over the Purbecks and we certainly supported each other throughout. I am aiming to repeat this for my next big birthday in a few years’ time.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
One voice can change a room.
What makes visiting the Herb House and Spa so special?
Well I suppose on the surface level because it is an award-winning destination spa set over three floors with a herb roof garden, raw food restaurant, sauna, steam room, 3 pools, gym, fitness and wellbeing studios, retail shop and 10 treatment rooms. More than that though, it is the setting and the amazing team. The Herb House was designed to immerse guests in the forest, which is quite literally on our doorstep, so whether you are relaxing in the hydrotherapy pool looking out into the forest through the floor to ceiling glass windows or taking part in a yoga session on the roof, you cannot help but feel a sense of calm when your here because you are surrounded by the beautiful natural environment. We are also lucky enough to work with some fantastic product houses including Ground Wellbeing, Bamford and Voya, who all offer incredible treatments.
