The dwelling itself is an elegant Georgian townhouse, medieval forge and row of cottages carefully converted in to a twelve-bedroom hotel set around a private courtyard.
The website says, ‘at the heart of the project is a devotion to Somerset’s craft heritage, artistry and culture’.
The partnered restaurant, Osip., is a small farm-to-table establishment whose menus reflect the very best of Somerset, working with a small but perfectly formed group of local farmers, growers, hunters and gatherers.
The restaurant is head up by owner Merlin Labron-Johnson, a talented chef who is no stranger to culinary accolades. Shortly after opening, Labron-Johnson, made the decision to remove menus entirely from the dining experience.
Saying ‘our vision of a country restaurant is a place where guests can come and put their faith in the kitchen’.
