Artist Residence London

Pimlico, London

A relaxed neighbourhood hub with a modern seasonal menu

Quirky but welcoming, the Artist Residence in London’s Pimlico offers a new take on the traditional boutique hotel, promising to wow on every visit.

Part of a small chain of boutique hotels, it all began in 2008 when co-founder Justin dropped out of university to help in the family’s Brighton-front bed and breakfast. Immediately, he caught the B&B bug. Lucky thing.

With a dream to improve the family business with only a little budget, Justin called out for local artists to decorate the B&B’s rooms in exchange for board. Hundreds of creatives descended on the property to offer their services.

Move on to 2014, Justin and his now wife opened their third venue in London – having opened a second in Cornwall in 2011. They chose an old Pub and began transforming it into the marvellous venue it is today.

Packed full of quirky, original artworks, the hotel also features a café bar to appeal to locals and guests alike, making the venue a spirited place to stay for a short or extended break.

With 10 bedrooms for guests to stay in, the Artist Residence in London is situated 10 minutes between charming Chelsea, the Tate Britain and grand and historic Westminster.

Set across three floors, the boutique hotel’s rooms range from small and medium sizes, with the Loft and Suites offering enough space to sprawl and relax when you’re not out and about in bustling London.

While there are many eateries and bars within a short distance to choose from, the Artist Residence’s Clubhouse should not be missed. Offering a friendly atmosphere, the buzzing neighbourhood bar offers everything from coffee to cocktails from breakfast until bedtime.

Also on the menu is a selection of outstanding breakfast and brunch dishes, served until 3pm, featuring eggs Florentine for a morning meal, to smoked haddock kedgeree for a later riser.
